Media (Media Manager)
Upload Image:
Hitting the "upload image" button takes you to a new screen where you will see a "browse" button. Hitting that button will bring up a browser window where you can search on your computer's hard drive for the image you would like to upload. You can also upload any other type of file to your media library this way, for example, html documents, audio clips, shockwave files, etc. Once you have selected the file you wish to send, you need to give the file the name you would like it to have in you directory. You can give it a long, descriptive name, but it can't have spaces in the name (use periods or underscores) and it must have the appropriate suffix (.gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .html, .wav). When you have named the file, hit the "image upload" button. Your file will then be immediately added to your library.
Alternate Ways of Uploading Files:
The image upload feature is convenient for uploading files one at a time, but FTPing is more convenient for large batches of files. The media manager page displays the path to your site's media directory. For more information on FTP, read how to FTP. Also, those people whose sites reside on the ShopSite server can email files to their media library.
Delete Image, View Image:
Select one or more images from those listed (select more than one by holding down the shift, alt, option, control, or comand buttons and clicking). Then hit the "delete image" button to erase those images from your library, or the "view image" button to view them exactly as they will appear in your store.
Edit Image Attributes:
Here, advanced users can scale the image to a certain size by adjusting height and width tags, or assign it values necessary for advanced applications such as hi res / lo res and imagemaps.
Reset Image Attributes:
This feature automatically returns the image settings to the default.
